Privacy Policy

CRESON Co., Ltd. (hereinafter “the Company”) has established the following Privacy Policy (hereinafter “this Policy”) to ensure the appropriate handling and protection of our customers’ personal information. The Company complies with this Policy together with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (hereinafter “the APPI”) and other related laws, regulations, and guidelines.

1. Definitions of Terms Used in This Policy

Terms used in this Policy shall follow the definitions given in the APPI.

2. Purposes of Use of Personal Information

(1) The Company uses customers’ personal information for the following purposes.

A. Use in the course of responding to customer requests and inquiries

i. Processing requests from customers
ii. Providing services to customers
iii. Billing customers for services rendered
iv. Processing payments from customers
v. Contacting and confirming after-sales service for services sold or provided to customers
vi. Responding to customer requests, inquiries, and complaints
vii. Verifying customer identity where necessary in the course of selling or providing services
viii. Responding to acts that violate the Company’s terms, policies, and similar rules
ix. Notifying customers of changes to the Company’s terms, policies, and similar rules

B. Use for improvement of the Company’s operations

i. Reference for the development of new services
ii. Creation of statistical data processed into a form that cannot identify individuals, in connection with the sale and provision of the Company’s services
iii. Updating, improving, and customizing the Company’s services and website

C. Use for marketing and related purposes

i. Delivery or display of advertising by the Company or third parties
ii. Use in marketing, announcements of new products and services, and other sales promotion activities

(2) The Company may change the purposes of use set out in (1) above within a scope reasonably deemed to be related to those purposes. In such cases, the Company will promptly notify customers of the revised purposes of use or make them public.
(3) Except where permitted under the APPI or other laws and regulations, the Company will not handle personal information beyond the scope necessary to achieve the purposes of use set out in (1) and (2) above without obtaining the customer’s prior consent.

3. Proper Acquisition of Personal Information

(1) The Company acquires personal information by proper means and will not acquire personal information by deception or other improper means.
(2) Except where permitted under the APPI or other laws and regulations, the Company will not acquire customers’ sensitive personal information without obtaining the customer’s prior consent.

4. Security Control of Personal Data

(1) The Company endeavors to keep personal data accurate and up to date within the scope necessary to achieve the purposes of use.
(2) The Company takes necessary and appropriate measures for the security control of the personal data it handles, including the prevention of leakage, loss, or damage, and exercises necessary and appropriate supervision over its employees and contractors.

5. Provision of Personal Data to Third Parties

Except where permitted under the APPI or other laws and regulations, the Company will not provide personal data to third parties (hereinafter “third-party provision”) without obtaining the customer’s prior consent. However, the following cases shall not constitute third-party provision.

i. Where all or part of the handling of personal data is entrusted to a contractor within the scope necessary to achieve the Company’s purposes of use
ii. Where personal data is provided in connection with the succession of business due to a merger or other reason
iii. Where personal data is jointly used in accordance with the provisions of the APPI

6. Joint Use of Personal Data

The Company may jointly use customers’ personal data as set out below.

(1) Items of personal data to be jointly used

Address, name, date of birth, telephone number, email address

(2) Scope of joint users

The Company’s group companies and business partners

(3) Purposes of use by joint users

As set out in “2. Purposes of Use of Personal Information”

(4) Name of the party responsible for the management of customers’ personal data

7. Requests for Disclosure of Retained Personal Data

(1) Where a customer requests notification of the purposes of use of retained personal data by which that customer is identified, in accordance with the APPI, the Company will confirm that the request has been made by the customer in person and will respond promptly in accordance with the APPI. Please note that a fee determined by the Company applies to each notification of purposes of use of retained personal data.
(2) Where a customer requests the disclosure, correction, or suspension of use of retained personal data by which that customer is identified, in accordance with the APPI, the Company will confirm that the request has been made by the customer in person and will respond promptly in accordance with the APPI. Please note that a fee determined by the Company applies to each disclosure of retained personal data.

8. Use of Cookies and Other Technologies

For the purpose of improving its services, the Company may send text files known as cookies to the storage device of a customer’s computer for storage and use, or may use similar technologies. Customers can disable cookies by changing their web browser settings; however, disabling cookies may prevent the use of all or part of the functions of the Company’s services.

11. Changes to This Policy

The Company reviews the status of its handling of customers’ personal information as appropriate and endeavors to make continuous improvements. The Company may revise this Policy as necessary. If the Company revises this Policy, it will notify customers by posting the revised Policy on the Company’s website.

12. Governing Language

This Policy is an English translation provided for reference. In the event of any discrepancy between the Japanese version and this English translation, the Japanese version shall prevail.
