The program has two parts: a lecture to learn the culture behind Origami and a practical lesson to use your hands. We teach carefully according to your level, from simple works for beginners to slightly complex artistic works.
First, we start with a class about the origin and history of Origami. In the past, it developed as a ceremonial decoration called “Origata (折形, origata)” attached to gifts. Knowing this background might change how you see a sheet of paper.
You will learn basic folding methods well while watching the teacher’s hands. You will be surprised that the beauty of the result changes a lot just by being careful with basics, like “matching corners exactly” and “making creases firmly.”
