A Japan Heritage Project Rooted at Kanda Myojin, Edo’s Guardian Shrine

— A Refined Journey into the Spirit of Edo and Its Exquisite Culinary Culture —

Before…

Many visitors from Japan and abroad come to Chiyoda City each day with Akihabara as their main destination.
Yet, without truly getting to know the area, many of them move on to Ueno or Asakusa.

At the same time, what international visitors to Japan truly seek is not only anime and the latest pop culture.
They want to experience Japan’s historic streetscapes, temples and shrines, and the traditional culture that can only be found here.

Despite their interest, we haven’t been able to communicate it fully.’
Out of this frustration, the project was born—
to turn the culture and history of Chiyoda City into immersive tourism experiences.

A Special Lecture by Chief Priest Shimizu of Kanda Myojin Shrine

Chief Priest Shimizu personally shares insights into the history of Kanda Myojin, the guardian shrine of Edo, as well as the values of “prayer” and the spirit of “hospitality” that have long been cherished by the Japanese people.
From perspectives not available to the general public, this is a special opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the essence of Shinto shrine culture and its significance as it continues to be passed down in modern times.

Gagaku Performance by Shinto Priests

Gagaku, Japan’s oldest form of court music, has been passed down for over a thousand years.
Experience an authentic performance by Shinto priests in the solemn and sacred setting of Kanda Myojin. The prayers and harmony woven into the music create an extraordinary moment that gently calms the mind and spirit.
